Administrative Manager-Community Development/Community Sustainability



Salary: $5,698 – $9,282 monthly

As the Administrative Manager, you will be responsible for the supervision, support, and training of staff within the administrative team that provides support to Community Development (CD) and Community Sustainability (CS) programs. You will also provide operational support to the CD, CS Directors, and Assistant Director. You will lead a team of administrative analysts and project technicians and will be familiar with the team’s projects and work products. As the Administrative Manager, you will oversee work under several different funding programs and coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies, as well as philanthropic organizations and other partners. Your primary responsibility will be ensuring compliance with all grant and contract requirements and expectations by coordinating work among the administrative team efficiently and effectively. There is an opportunity to develop and strengthen processes and structures that support this objective.

Responsibilities


  • Provide leadership and vision to administrative staff in carrying out the programs and mission of SHE.
  • Develop/strengthen policies and procedures around administrative functions that are well-coordinated with SHE’s accounting systems.
  • Ensure staff is well-trained, well-supported, and provided a safe work environment.
  • Provide training to program staff on established administrative procedures and expectations.
  • Oversee the financial management of funding sources and expenses to ensure work is completed on schedule and in compliance with contract requirements.
  • Assist in preparing reports to funding agencies and organizations, taking responsibility for quality and content.
  • Develop and record operating procedures and implement cross-training to ensure staff transferability of knowledge and adaptability.
  • Maintain effective communication with SHE partners, staff, and others to further positive working relationships.
  • Prepare project budgets, review fiscal data, and proactively manage within budget.
  • Enforce SHE policies and be responsive to employee concerns.



Must Haves


  • Experience in supervising and motivating a team to achieve varied objectives and manage projects on different timelines.
  • Bachelor of Arts or Science (preferably in a field related to this position) or equivalent work experience.
  • General knowledge of infrastructure issues related to rural California communities, including water, wastewater, and clean energy.
  • Demonstrated technical, management, and administrative experience and expertise appropriate to the specific program area(s).
  • Understanding the various facets of program delivery and demonstrated ability to integrate administrative functions into program delivery effectively and collaboratively.
