Wells Fargo, in partnership with Self-Help Enterprises and NeighborWorks, still has $15,000 homebuyer downpayment assistance grants available through its HomeLIFT program for prospective buyers in Fresno, Modesto and Stockton.
National Homeownership Month takes place in June and highlights USDA’s ongoing role to help residents of America’s small towns and cities purchase homes in rural areas. In California, Self-Help Enterprises has partnered with USDA since 1965 to help more than 6,100 very-low- and low-income families build and own their own homes in the San Joaquin Valley.

Tulare County officials are looking for a partnership with the City of Dinuba in a new program that provides people whose wells have run dry with potable water. Tulare County is working with Self-Help Enterprises for the household tank program.
Residents in the community of Cameron Creek Colony, where several wells have gone dry, are currently in the process of connecting to Farmerville’s water system. This permanent solution brings clean, reliable water to families who have been impacted by the drought.
Self-Help Enterprises may be able to assist in locating funding sources to help residents in East Porterville to connect to the City of Porterville’s water system.
