The U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development department has granted $100,000 to Self-Help Enterprises of Visalia to help people who have no water because their private wells have gone dry.
Three local water companies have received USDA funding to locate and install a new well, including Lake of the Woods Mutual Water Company who Self-Help Enterprises is working with.
Private wells throughout Cameron Creek Colony have gone dry. Self Help Enterprises has been working with the community to connect Cameron Creek to Farmersville’s water system.
Wells Fargo, together with Self-Help Enterprises, presented a check to Delano’s Mayor for improvement to the local Community Center and demolition of abandoned homes.
Seven abandoned homes were demolished in Delano between February and May, with the help of more than $150,000 donated by Wells Fargo, to Self-Help Enterprises.
